Friend 3

Friend 3 is a desktop robot that pays attention to you while you are paying attention to it. The robot has a top mounted camera that tracks user’s face, and uses two motors to move its’ body around.
The biggest challenged for this project is moving 2 motors at 45 degree angle at the same time while trying to track the face.
Friend 3 is part of the Making Friends by Making them series, where I provide all the 3D printing files and instructions for you to assemble and program you own friend.
The idea is to “make a friend” in a different way. How would you program a friendship? What kind of interaction would you program it to have? By answer those questions, we might just reveal more about ourselves.
